About John Abbott Music
John Abbott Music (d/b/a JAM) is an independent music company supporting local musicians in performance, production, and publishing.
JAM’s key attributes include affordable resources for independent artists with a collaborative of credentialed music professionals for hire.
Plans also include development of Murphy Boy Records, an independent record label through which original copyrighted works can be recorded and distributed.
Current bands include The Perfect Alibi Quartet, Hear and Now, and The Einstein Alley Cats.
John Abbott studies jazz guitar and the business of music at the Berklee College of Music online. A profound believer that musicians should contribute and give back to the community, John performs in ad hoc groups playing jazz, blues, and oldies in open mics and in benefit shows for local charities as a member of the Princeton-based Einstein Alley Musicians Collaborative.
He is the former volunteer chapter coordinator for Guitars For Vets, a national nonprofit organization providing free guitar lessons for military veterans afflicted with PTSD and other distress at the Lyons VA New Jersey Health Care System.
John is a member of BMI and an affiliate member of The Recording Academy.
