• Jersey Avenue crash under investigation, Prosecutor's Office reports (dailytargum.com) — A serious head-on collision on Jersey Avenue in New Brunswick early Sunday left a 26-year-old city resident with significant injuries and another local driver with minor injuries, both now treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Police and county investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash, just minutes from the College Avenue campus, to contact New Brunswick detectives with information.
   

• FAA Says Error Messages in Telecommunications Circuit Prompted Shift to Backup on Sunday (ntd.com) — A contractor working near New Brunswick accidentally cut a backup FAA fiber line this week, contributing to a massive air-traffic outage that delayed or canceled about 9,500 East Coast flights. Federal officials now say the failure underscores the urgent need for billions more to modernize the nation's aging air-traffic telecom system, which still relies heavily on outdated infrastructure.
