Rutgers Cancer Pavilion Will Soar Over New Brunswick Skyline

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Here's another rendering of how the "Cancer Pavilion" will look at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick.

As Patch previously reported, this will be the first free-standing cancer treatment center in the state of New Jersey. The Cancer Pavilion will be run by the Rutgers Cancer Institute, part of RWJBarnabas Health.

Construction is scheduled to start in the fall of 2020.

The 12-story, state-of-the-art cancer treatment center will be located on Little Albany Street and reach over Somerset Street (the current site of the Lincoln Annex School). Once its done, it will soar over the New Brunswick skyline, and will be visible from miles around.

The Cancer Pavilion will do cancer research and treatment.

It will cost $25 million to build and will be built using taxpayer money; public financing being provided by Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health, New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) and the city of New Brunswick.
