Bergen Teen Arrested After Burglary And Theft Spree: Police

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A teenager was arrested Thursday after a burglary and theft spree was reported in Bergenfield, police announced.

William K. Muller, 19, was charged with two counts of burglary and four counts of theft after police investigated several reports of residential burglaries and thefts from June 2016 and February 2017, said Capt. Mustafa Rabboh of the Bergenfield Police Department. About $95,000 worth of merchandise was reported stolen.

Muller was identified as a suspect during the time the incidents occurred, Rabboh said.

An an extensive investigation, police had probable cause that Muller was the suspect in each of the incidents and he was arrested, Rabboh said.

In addition to burglary and theft, Muller was charged with three counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of identity theft, attempted burglary and fencing, the captain said.

Muller was served with a complaint summons under the state's new bail reform law and released pending a June 28 court date, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
