Borough Officials Share Tips for Garbage Collection
Two important items to remember when putting debris curbside

Many borough residents in low-lying areas that were heavily impacted by flooding after Hurricane Irene are dealing with significant amounts of storm-related debris.
Borough Administrator Christine Demiris reminded residents of two important rules governing trash collection in the borough.
"Trash should be bagged or containerized – loose items at the curb only serve to slow down collection," said Demiris in an e-mail.

"Construction debris as a result of remediation or repair being done by a contractor should be removed by the contractor, not placed at the curb," said Demiris. "Any work by a third party vendor is the responsibility of the vendor and it is the homeowners responsibility to make sure their contractor is doing what they are supposed to be doing."
