The Borough Council will meet on Monday June 13 and will vote to appoint one Republican to fill the open seat. The council has the opportunity to interview or question the candidates. However in recent similar situations, a council member has made a motion to appoint a particular candidate from the list, a second is made and a vote has been taken, according to Mayor Ann Subrizi.

Councilwoman Randi Duffie assumed her position immediately after being appointed to fill the seat vacated by the death of Joe Murray and most recently Councilwoman Celeste Scavetta was appointed to fill Subrizi's seat after her election to mayor.

That appointee will sit on the council until a special election can be held in November to fill the position for the remainder of Bachmann's term which runs through the end of 2012.
