Letter to the Editor: Mayor Subrizi Responds to Residents' Comments
Mayor Ann Subrizi issued a statement on Thursday

Mayor Ann Subrizi released a statement from Borough Hall on Thursday, seeking to address comments made by New Milford Patch readers as well as statements made in e-mails sent to the media and borough officials.
"I would like to correct the constant barrage of incorrect statements being bandied about untruthfully. I NEVER said there was no money for recovery or clean up from Hurricane Irene. On the contrary, I asked that we do whatever was necessary to get it done.
I KNOW what I said. I said there was no money for BUY-OUTS. CLEAN UP has been my number one concern. Waste Management was contracted on Wednesday, 8/31 (two days after the storm). Clean-up began slowly on day 1 and day 2. On day 3, when it became apparent that they (WMI) had a problem I began at 7AM trying to correct it, as did the Boro Hall staff. The clean-up effort will continue until all the debris is eliminated.

An unprecedented amount of rain has caused an unprecedented disaster, from which we are trying to recover. My faith is in the community and in the truth.
Our website and Boro Hall staff will keep you up to date with correct information."
