New Milford Field of Dreams Announces Rally
Group says that hundreds are expected tonight at the rally

The New Milford Field of Dreams Committee announced plans to hold a rally Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in front of the high school prior to the mayor and council meeting.
"An impressive turnout is expected to come in support of the Field of Dreams initiative," said a press release issued by the group. The group is estimating "hundreds" will come out.
The location of the meeting was changed to New Milford High School from Borough Hall last Wednesday after borough officials determined the size of the anticipated crowd would be better accommodated at NMHS.

"This [change] is due to the attention from local residents who are opposed to the development of housing or commercial structures on a 16-acre tract of undeveloped land presently owned by United Water," said the group in their press release.
The group is seeking the construction of a "green multi-generational, multi-functional, educational and recreational complex on the land."

The proposed developers for the property, the S. Hekemian Group of Paramus, are scheduled to appear at 8 p.m. Monday to present their plans for the 16-acre property currently owned by United Water.
