New Milford HS Students to Attend Youth Symposium at Ramapo College for Career Advice Oct. 29

The program is designed to help students have an increased understanding of the importance of staying in school & setting reachable goals.

High school students will have the opportunity to explore career options in high demand jobs at a full-day Youth Symposium hosted by the Bergen County Workforce Investment Board and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Ramapo College.

This free program is designed to help students have an increased understanding of the importance of staying in school and setting reachable career, personal and educational goals. Trained professionals from the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation will provide hands-on workshops. The program will also feature motivational speaker George Martin plus an Internet safety presentation from the Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit.

“This is a valuable opportunity to motivate, encourage and empower our young people to stay in school while planning realistic career goals,” said Tammy Molinelli, Executive Director of the Bergen County Workforce Investment Board.

This program will be attended by students from the following high schools: Elmwood Park, Dwight Morrow, Hackensack, Leonia, New Milford, Paramus, Pascack Valley, Saddle Brook and Teaneck. Funding for this program is being provided by a grant from the NJ Department of Education and the State Employment and Training Commission.

The symposium will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ramapo College’s Student Center in the Friends Hall auditorium.
