New Milford to Leave 39th District Due to Redistricting
The borough will join the 38th state legislative district following changes after the 2010 census

This November, voters in New Milford will no longer be casting their votes for representatives in the 39th state legislative district. New Milford will be joining the 38th legislative district, per the new districting issued Sunday by a bipartisan committee.
Petitions are due to the New Jersey Secretary of State on Monday April 11 for those who are interested in running for office in the June primary. Borough voters will be electing representatives in the 38th district when they head to the polls in November.
New Milford will officially be represented by elected officials from the 38th district on the second Tuesday in January 2012 when all officials are sworn in.
