Proposed Developer for United Water Property Postpones Presentation

The proposed developer for the United Water property, located at River Road and Main Street, has asked to reschedule their presentation to the mayor and council.

"They were originally scheduled to appear at the March 14 work session," said Borough Administrator Christine Demiris in an e-mail.  "The new date has yet to be determined." 

United Water recently completed a major environmental clean up at the site which had lagoons that stored the "sludge" left over from the water treatment process. This spring the berm that was removed during the clean up will be restored to protect the property from flooding. Once the berm is complete, the property can then be developed.

"The contract purchaser for the United Water property is S. Hekemian Group," said Demiris. "The purpose of the appearance is to share with the Mayor and Council the proposed use."
