Boys and Girls UCIAC Relays results 

Girls Basketball

GL 52, Elizabeth 41: Sam Dowling recorded 16 points with 12 of them coming from behind the three point line as the Highlanders extended their winning streak to seven

GL 46, Dayton 34: The Highlanders continued their hot start with a hard-fought 46-34 win over Dayton. Mallory George totaled 12 points for the Highlanders.

GL 42, Roselle Catholic 25: Won the Roselle Catholic Tournament behind 10 points from Erin Ferguson, Rebecca Johnson and Mallory George

GL 55, Morris Catholic 52: Needed overtime to advance to the next round of the Roselle Catholic Tournament. Erin Ferguson totaled 11 points and nine rebounds in the victory.

Boys Basketball

GL 52, Cranford 42: Logan Kelley, who continues to light up the scoreboard, scored 23 points to go along with seven rebounds in the Highlanders' double-digit win over Cranford

GL 53, Marlboro 33: Logan Kelley once again kept up his great scoring with a total of 18 points in the consolation win over Marlboro. Robert Imbalzano added 14 points.

Whippany Park 57, GL 53: Fell behind Whippany Park 21-6 in the first quarter and settled in, outscoring their opponent in the final three periods. Logan Kelley finished with 26 points.

-Logan Kelley tallied 34 points in GL's loss to Union Catholic

Hockey

-Drew Miller totaled four points on a goal and an assist in the 5-0 win over Dayton.

-Defeated Parsippany for its first win of the 2011 season. For more:

-John Labella made 33 saves in the 5-1 loss to Montclair. 

Boys & Girls Fencing

The Centrullos- The Highlanders put up a strong showing in the boys event at Morris Knolls high school. The Epees finished in 6th, the Sabres in 4th and the foils in 10th

GL vs Columbia- Boys squad fell 17-10 but the girls won 14-13 in dramatic fashion on the last bout of the match.

Will host its biggest rival, Columbia, on Thrusday 1/5 at GL. Players to watch on the girls side for GL are Alaina Jennings Epee  and Alaina Uhouse Saber. For the boys it is Epees David Jennings and Bennett Warcaster.

12/28 @ Bernards HS-Tri Meet-both the girls and the boys teams defeated West Essex while only the boys team was able to take down the host squad Bernards.
