Former Business Administrator Named Ocean City Citizen of the Year

Michael Dattilo will be honored at a dinner on Monday night, Nov. 16.

Former Ocean City Business Administrator MIchael Dattilo is being recognized for his efforts to help the city.

Dattilo is the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Citizen of the Year. He will receive the award at the Chamber’s dinner on Monday, Nov. 16 at the Ocean City Yacht Club.

In addition to serving as the city’s business administrator, Dattilo has served the city in multiple capacities over the last 30 years.

As the Business Administrator, he oversaw the following departments: Law, Community Services, Public Works, Financial Management, Police Services and Fire & Rescue Services.

Dattilo also served as the Department Head for the following divisions: Emergency Management, Engineering / Project Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Purchasing.

He’s also coached Little League and served as a mentor and basketball coach at the Ocean City Primary School.

He is very active with the Ocean City Youth Athletic Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for First Night and Greater Ocean City Theatre Company.

Dattilo lives in Ocean City with his wife and two daughters.
