Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Ocean City.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — There's a lot of news to keep up with right now — locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Ocean City and Cape May County.
Cases
The Cape May County Health Department has reported five active cases and two recoveries in Ocean City as of 1 p.m. Wednesday. Officials have reported 100 positive cases, including 15 recoveries and two deaths, in the county.

The CMCHD reported the county's second known death from the virus. The patient was an 86-year-old man with underlying health conditions. He was also a resident at Victoria Manor in North Cape May. Fifteen residents and 12 staff have tested positive for the coronavirus at the nursing home as of Tuesday evening. MORE.

Testing
Cape May County opened a drive-thru testing site for the coronavirus. Officials will only disclose the location to people approved for testing because of confidentiality. MORE.

Restrictions and Updates
- The Cape May County Board of Freeholders voted Tuesday to prohibit hotels, motels and other short-term rental businesses from lodging transient guests or seasonal tenants. MORE.
