Prettyman was appointed to fill the seat left vacant when Ray Clark resigned in 2015.

Three representatives from Upper Township were also sworn in, according to the report.

Kristie Brown-Chisholm, Bill Holmes, and Fran Newman will continue to represent Upper Township on the Ocean City Board of Education. They also did so last year.

Upper Township has asked for a declaratory judgement from State Commissioner of Education David Hespe over claims that the Ocean City Board of Education is excluding Upper Township representatives from committee meetings, a claim Ocean City has denied.
