Ocean City Coronavirus Updates: Cases Stagnate After Local Rise
Here's the latest on how the coronavirus pandemic has affected Ocean City and Cape May County.

Cases
The Cape May County Health Department has reported 25 active cases among Ocean City residents as of noon Tuesday. Eighty-four people have been cleared off quarantine, and three in Ocean City have died of COVID-19 during the pandemic.

Ocean City still has more active cases than any other Cape May County municipality β Upper Township follows with 16. But case numbers have remained stagnant in the past few days β the Cape May County Health Department reported 28 active cases Thursday among Ocean City residents.

But local hospitalizations remain low, Mayor Jay Gillian said Friday in his weekly address.
"Fortunately, our local hospital officials reported this (last) week that as of Wednesday, Shore Medical Center had only three COVID patients and Cape Regional just two," he said. "Those hospital numbers could be lagging behind the active cases numbers, or it could be that many of the active cases are asymptomatic or minor."

Officials have reported 84 active cases, 1,214 cleared off quarantine and 92 deaths in Cape May County. See more data here.
