Ocean City COVID-19 Update: Cases Low, Indoor Dining Controversy

OCEAN CITY, NJ — There's a lot of news to keep up with right now — locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Ocean City and Cape May County.

Cases

Here are Ocean City's coronavirus figures as of Wednesday morning, per the Cape May County Health Department:

• resident active cases: three
• community cases cleared off quarantine: 59
• community deaths: one
• non-resident active cases: three
• longterm-care facility active cases: zero
• longterm-care facility cases cleared off quarantine: five
• longterm-care facility deaths: two

The CMCHD has logged the following county-wide figures as of Wednesday morning:

• resident active cases: 62
• community cases cleared off quarantine: 794
• community deaths: 28
• non-resident active cases: 28
• longterm-care facility active cases: 11
• longterm-care facility cases cleared off quarantine: 169
• longterm-care facility deaths: 60

Recent Updates

• For local seasonal businesses, Governor Phil Murphy's decision to resume indoor dining Friday is "too little, too late," according to Wesley Kazmarck, president of the Ocean City Boardwalk Merchants Association. MORE.
