Second Suspicious Package Addressed To Caesars Atlantic City In Two Days

For the second consecutive day, a suspicious package addressed to Caesars Atlantic City has been deemed a hoax.

This one was investigated at the Atlantic City Post Office when a mail carrier noticed the package and reported it to police, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

The package was unopened and no one was injured, according to the report.

It was addressed to Caesars Atlantic City, and came from the same source that sent a suspicious package to the casino on Tuesday. That source has not been identified publicly.

Both packages contained a brown powder wrapped in plastic with tape around it. On Tuesday, some employees at the casino were exposed to the substance and quarantined, but were uninjured and were allowed to leave.

Not only is it the second suspicious package in Atlantic City in two days, it is the third in two weeks.

On Sept. 20, a suspicious ‘ticking’ package was discovered outside a business in the Smithville Town Center in Galloway Township. In that incident, police didn’t say what was in the package, and said the investigation was ongoing.

On the same day, a mysterious package was found in Trenton, but that turned out to be a bag of trash.
Earlier this week, the Mercer County Courthouse in Trenton was shut down for over an hour due to an Anthrax scare that turned out to be a hoax.

It all comes in the wake of the arrest of 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami in connection with bombings in Seaside Park, New Jersey, and the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea, as well as the discovery of five explosive devices in Elizabeth.
