Bergen's Jabrill Peppers Receives Most Versatile Player Award, Finishes 5th In Heisman Voting
The Paramus Catholic alumnus lost to Louisville's Lamar Jackson, the youngest recipient in the history of the Heisman.

Jabrill Peppers lost out on the Heisman Trophy Saturday, but was named the nation's most versatile player thanks to his ability to play impactfully in all three phases — offense, defense, and special teams — of college football for the Michigan Wolverines.
Peppers, a Paramus Catholic alumnus, received 208 points in this year's Heisman voting, far less than Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, the youngest winner of the most prestigious award in collegiate athletics, ESPN reported.
Peppers was the only defensive player nominated this year for the Heisman. Although his primary position is linebacker, he has been a kick and punt returner, safety, cornerback, running back, wide receiver, and even quarterback this season. He has one interception, three sacks, and 67 tackles. He also has 170 yards of offense and four touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball and as a special teams player.
