“I’m really excited. I can’t wait. I know it’s going to be a great experience,” said Meier, who made a verbal commitment to Seton Hall during her junior year.

The signing was held at the Paramus Board of Education offices. On hand were Superintendent James Montesano, Principal Kurt Karcich, Athletic Director Don Roll, and coaches Dan Sabella and Vic DiPasquale.

“It’s a proud day for a tremendous accomplishment,” said Sabella, who played quarterback for Monmouth University. “Not only for John and his family, but also the community.”

“I’m looking forward to watching [Meier] play at Seton Hall, my alma mater,” said DiPasquale, who played baseball for the Pirates.

Meier is the first female athlete DiPasquale has coached to a Division I scholarship.

“It’s a great school for her to go to. There’s going to be a lot of good recruits going there. The team is going to be good for the next couple years,” DiPasquale added.

Robertson racked up 3,978 total yards (1,955 passing, 2,023 rushing) in his final varsity season.

Meier finished her varsity career by recording career-highs in goals (nine) and assists (nine) this past season.
