18 Trucks, 25 Hours: Point Pleasant Borough Blizzard Response
Borough officials say they will continue to work on widening intersections in the days ahead.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — It took 18 trucks and 25-1/2 hours for the Point Pleasant public works department to clear the borough's roads after the blizzard that dropped 18 inches of snow Sunday into Monday, Point Pleasant officials said Wednesday.
"While the storm did not break records, it was the largest snowstorm our community has experienced in several years," borough officials said in an update.
The public works crews began plowing at 7 p.m. Sunday to clear the approximate 55 miles of borough roads, then salted as soon as the plowing was completed, officials said.
