Valhallas Pirates To Pay A Visit To Riverfront Park On Aug. 5

Event is free to the public.

They’ve been plundering the Eastern shores of the colonies since 1670.

Well, not really.

But the Vahallas Pirates are coming to Point Pleasant from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Riverfront Park on Wednesday, Aug. 5 for a free performance.

Come and meet Captain Charles Black and his crew and learn about the Golden Age of Piracy - how they dressed, spoke, what skills, tools and weapons they used during the years 1670-1730.

Listen to a pirate story, join in on the sing-a-longs and pirate swordplay.

The group does have a mission - to teach the difference between pirates, privateers and sailors and their impact on history, according to the website.

“We feel that realistically portraying pirates and sailors who can physically ”interact” with the public is a very effective way of teaching,” the site states.

The event is part of the Point Pleasant recreation department’s summer entertainment series.
