Bomb Threat at Riverside School 'Unfounded': Princeton Police
The school received a threat via pre-recorded message Thursday morning.

A bomb threat received by the Riverside School Thursday morning has proven to be unfounded, Princeton Police said late Thursday morning.
As a result, normal operations will resume at all Princeton Regional Schools for the rest of the day after the schools had been put under a “shelter in place.”
While there is no immediate threat the Princeton Police Department are continuing to monitor activities at all schools.

Princeton Police responded to the Riverside School at 10:17 a.m. to investigate a suspicious incident involving a pre-recorded message called into the main office, stating there was a bomb in the school. Police determined the threat was unfounded after searching the school with bomb-sniffing dogs.
The incident is similar to ‘swatting’ incidents, fake bomb threats delivered via pre-recorded message, that took place at schools in the district earlier this year.

In all there were a total of 12-14 ”swatting” threats in Princeton, including threats at the Riverside School and Johnson Park School, John Witherspoon Middle School, a threat at Princeton High School that resulted in a Shelter in Place and a threat at a home on Jefferson Road.
None of the threats turned out to be credible, but Princeton Police must take each threat seriously, Police Chief Nicholas Sutter told the community during a town hall meeting in May.
