Princeton Police Investigate Threats at Two Schools on Monday
Threats were made at Riverside and Johnson Park.

Two schools have been deemed safe and secure, and Princeton Police will continue to monitor both following separate threats received within an hour of each other Monday morning.
The first threat came at 10:08 a.m. at the Riverside School. The second came at Johnson Park School at 11:08 a.m.
Each incident involved what police described as a “computer generated male voice making a general threat against the school and students.”

Police conducted a thorough search of both the inside and outside of each school, and determined that all was safe and secure. Each school was placed under lockdown while the searches were conducted.
An elementary school in South Brunswick was also evacuated Monday morning after two people walked into the school and bypassed a visitors’ checkpoint. However, that proved to be the result of two guest speakers showing up at the wrong school and leaving before checking in.

In Princeton, it was the second time each school has been threatened over the last month.
On May 19, Johnson Park Elementary School received a pre-recorded threat, and a threat was made to a home on Jefferson Road later that night.
It was the fifth overall incident in Princeton in the past few months.
John Witherspoon Middle School received a similar threat on May 12.
Princeton High School received a threat that resulted in Shelter in Place on May 21.
The incident at the high school prompted Princeton Police to issue a statement saying they were investigating all recent threats, and that threats of this nature had been made nationwide. Police reiterated their partnership with state and federal agencies regarding these threats on Monday.
Last week, a Manchester woman was charged with creating a false public alarm and terroristic threats after a call warning of a bomb at the Ocean County Mall.
At the same time this arrest was announced, the Cherry Hill Mall was evacuated for a similar threat.
