The Waldorf School of Princeton held its annual commencement ceremony for graduating eighth graders Sunday, June 9, on the grounds of its Cherry Hill Road campus.
The Class of 2013, composed of 12 students and led by class teacher Deirdre Sciarretta, is the 19th class to graduate from the school, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
In her address to the parents, Sciarretta acknowledged that this was the culminating experience for 10 of the 12 families, and that together they represented more than 100 years of dedication to the school.

Sunday was also a graduation of sorts for Sciarretta, who will be relocating with her family to join another Waldorf school in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this summer. A teacher at the Waldorf School of Princeton since 2000, she accompanied three classes through the eighth grade. (In Waldorf schools, teachers typically move with their class from grade to grade.)
The new graduates will attend a variety of public and private high schools in the fall, including George School, High Mowing School, Hopewell Valley Regional High School, The Hun School of Princeton, Princeton Day School, Princeton High School, South Hunterdon Regional High School, and Tara Performing Arts High School.
