During June, some intense storms came through the region, an e.coli scare prompted a bottled water recall and a ”testicle-eating fish” was netted in South Jersey.

1. ‘Tornado’ Rips Through South Jersey: Eyewitnesses (June 26)

What appeared to be a tornado ripped through South Jersey Tuesday evening, causing power outages and resulting in smashed windows and flipped over cars, several eyewitnesses said. The National Weather Service since identified the weather event as a ”downburst.”

2. Video Captured Of Watersprout On Long Beach Island (June 26)

The video shows a watersprout running across the waters of Long Beach Island. The footage shows the winds beginning to pick up steam to the left around the 2:45 minute mark.

3. E.Coli Concerns Prompt Statewide Bottled Water Recall (June 22)

The company that supplies Wegmans, ShopRite, 7-Eleven, Acme and others with bottled water has issued a recall because of E.coli.

4. ‘Testicle-Eating’ Fish Netted In South Jersey (June 27)

How does a fish native to South America end up in a manmade lake in Delran?

5. Half-Eaten Dolphin, Possibly A Shark Victim, Washes Up At Jersey Shore (June 17)

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center suggested the dolphin was eaten by a shark before it washed up, and a Philadelphia woman took the photo.

6. ‘Dream Home’ Turns Nightmare As Buyers Stalked By ‘The Watcher’ (June 24)

Three days after a couple closed on their $1.3 million “dream home” in Westfield, disturbing letters began to show up from “The Watcher.”

7. Lives to be Saved From Organs of Morris Boy Who Died in Boating Accident (June 25)

Christopher D’Amico, Jr., died after he fell overboard in Lake Hopatcong and was subsequently struck by a pontoon boat.

8. Giants’ Weatherford Survives Turnpike Crash, Saves Driver On Flooded Road (June 1)

Due to the storms, Weatherford’s Sunday flight from southern California to Newark was cancelled, and the football player was forced to fly into Washington D.C. and take a rental car to northern New Jersey to make Monday morning’s practice.

9. Off-Duty Cop Shoots, Kills Ex-Wife With Daughter Present, Monmouth Prosecutor Says (June 17)

The couple’s 7-year-old child, the youngest of nine children, was in Phillip Seidle’s car at the time of the shooting, authorities said.
