Snow Shoveling Controversy, Craigslist Stabbing, Measles Outbreak: February 2015 on Patch

During February, New Jersey was pummeled with more winter weather, shoveling snow became controversial and the first measles case of the year was confirmed in Jersey City.

Police arrested Naji Love, 20, of Montclair for stabbing a man twice while meeting up to potentially buy an iPad in Montclair

5. ‘Significant’ Snow, Ice Storm To Hit New Jersey Sunday, Monday Commute (Feb. 1)

Winter Storm Linus was expected to blanket much of New Jersey with snow, ice and rain on Sunday, impacting the morning commute following Super Bowl Sunday.

Police say an underage drinking party at her home sent a 15-year-old boy to the hospital. Published report says defendant is a teacher.

8. Baby Confirmed As First Measles Victim In New Jersey; Exposure Risk Remains (Feb. 7)

State officials confirmed that a 1-year-old baby is the first confirmed victim of measles in New Jersey following a nationwide outbreak.

9. Video Shows House ‘Disintegrate’ After Manahawkin Explosion (Feb. 25)

A gas main break and explosion disintegrated a house that was under renovation in Manahawkin.

10. Central Regional Superintendent Suspends Athletic Director (Feb. 2)

Central Regional Schools Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides has suspended the district’s athletic director over what he called an “internal” problem that does not involve any students or other coaches.
