Princeton-Area Waterways To Benefit From $35K Algal Bloom Prevention Grant (patch.com) — Princeton-area streams in the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed will see enhanced monitoring for harmful algal blooms thanks to a $35,000 grant to The Watershed Institute. New equipment and expanded community science through the StreamWatch program will improve detection at several sites in and around Princeton, while local officials and residents will be engaged through educational outreach to protect regional water quality.

Upcoming Events from Sustainable Princeton: Beer & Garden, Walk n' Roll Challenge (tapinto.net) — Sustainable Princeton is bringing back its Beer & Garden night at Princeton Shopping Center on Friday, September 18, along with a month-long Walk n' Roll Challenge for residents who live or work in town. You can enjoy local brews, family activities, and sustainability demos, then log your walking or biking miles in September for a shot at prizes from Princeton-area shops.
   

3. Hike the Delaware and Raritan Canal, Visit Historic Rockingham (jewishlink.news) — Outdoor enthusiasts near Princeton can follow this guide to a 4.2‑mile loop along the Delaware and Raritan Canal, starting from a parking area at 48 Old Lincoln Highway in Princeton. The route passes Kingston Lock, follows the towpath and an old rail bed, and offers an optional visit to Rockingham, where George Washington once stayed. Directions are provided from several North Jersey towns, with dogs allowed on-leash for the hike.
   

4. Edmar Castañeda Quartet to Bring Colombian Roots and Jazz to McCarter on September 12th (newjerseystage.com) — Princeton music lovers can catch harpist and composer Edmar Castañeda and his quartet at McCarter Theatre's Berlind Theatre on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The Colombian-born, Latin GRAMMY–nominated innovator blends jazz with Colombian roots and global influences, returning to McCarter after a previous appearance with Béla Fleck's BEATrio. Tickets run $39–$69, with the theater located at 91 University Place in Princeton.
   

5. From Reb Levi Yitzchok: Guidance for a Successful Marriage (collive.com) — A Princeton-based rabbi, Dovid Dubov of Chabad of Mercer County, is sharing weekly Torah insights on marriage drawn from the teachings of Reb Levi Yitzchok Schneerson.
