Princeton Animal Control Officer Charged With Child Sex Assault In Pennsylvania
Nate Barson has been suspended without pay, town officials said on Monday.

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Animal Control Officer Saul Nathan Barson has been suspended without pay after being charged with child sexual assault in Pennsylvania, town officials announced on Monday.
Barson, 29, of Lambertville, was arrested on Monday, and charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility.
Barson is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old at the Pat Livezey Park in Solebury Township on Feb. 3.
Bail was set at $300,000, 10 percent option, Solebury Township Police said. He was remanded to Bucks County Prison.

Anyone who may have had contact with Barson in regards to the alleged charges are asked to contact Solebury Township Police at 215-348-7400.
Barson was connected to the crime after the child and his parents reported the assault by an adult known to the boy as “Jake,” according to the Princeton Packet. The mother provided a license plate number to the pickup truck the assailant was alleged to have been driving, leading police to identify Barson as the alleged culprit.

Barson was named Princeton Animal Control Officer in 2015. He replaced Mark Johnson, who parted ways with the town after it was revealed that 400 rabies vaccines provided to the town by the state were unaccounted for.
