Community Rallies To Lift Historic Boat House On Navesink River (patch.com) — Red Bank residents are being asked to help save the historic Monmouth Boat Club boathouse on the Navesink River after a powerful nor'easter left it partially submerged. A local Friends group has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $10,000 to lift and protect the flood-prone structure, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and considered one of New Jersey's most endangered historic sites.
2. Red Bank Borough Public Schools — Living the Community School Model (tapinto.net) — Red Bank Borough Public Schools recently turned the middle school gym and cafeteria into a one-stop hub where 87% of local families picked up supplies, got help with portals, and accessed free shoes and vision care. With more than 25 community partners and on-site eyeglass production, the district is doubling down on its promise to remove barriers so Red Bank students start school healthy and ready to learn.
3. A Conversation with Dennis Diken of the Smithereens Prior to the Sleepy Hollow Music Festival (riverjournalonline.com) — An interview with Smithereens drummer Dennis Diken previews the band's upcoming Sleepy Hollow Music Festival set while reflecting on their 46-year run and evolving lineup. Along the way, he recalls a pivotal 2018 tribute show at Red Bank's Count Basie Theater that helped the band move forward after losing singer Pat DiNizio, a moment many local fans may remember.
4.
