2 Bronx Men Arrested For Rush-Hour Shooting On Bergen County Street

Two Bronx men were arrested Thursday for a shooting on a Fort Lee street during the evening rush hour.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Two Bronx men were arrested last week for allegedly shooting at a victim's car on a Fort Lee street during Friday rush hour.

Prosecutors announced on Friday the arrests of Luis Villao-Haro, 24, and Abdul Jimenez-Vera, 23, who both live at 642 Faile St., Bronx, on charges related to the shooting.

Prosecutors said that on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at approximately 5:06 p.m., Fort Lee police responded to Bridle Way on a report of a possible shooting.

An investigation determined that two unknown suspects wearing dark-colored clothing arrived outside the victim’s residence on a motorcycle, brandished a firearm, and opened fire on the victim’s unoccupied, parked vehicle. Ballistic evidence was recovered from the scene.

A two-month-long investigation led to the two men.

On Thursday, Feb. 22, they were arrested at their Bronx home with the assistance of the FBI NY Safe Streets Task
Force and the New York City Police Department.

They were each charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree criminal mischief.
