A Bergen County-based teacher and councilman was charged with possession of child sex abuse materials, as was his son, said reports.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A councilman who lives in Tenafly was arrested Thursday after a childhood sex abuse material investigation, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.
Jeffrey D. Grossman, 65, was identified by prosecutors as a teacher, but news outlets confirmed that he is also the Borough Council president in Tenafly.
Grossman was charged Thursday with one count of second-degree possession of child pornography, said the office of Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Grossman is a middle school teacher in Rochelle Park, the Record of Hackensack said.
Family Member Charged As Well
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced in a separate release the arrest of Steven Grossman, 24, of the same address in Tenafly, on a charge of possession of child sexual abuse material.
The Record of Hackensack identified him as Jeffrey Grossman's son, and said a family lawyer declined to comment on the charges against both men.
The younger Grossman is a social worker at the school where his father works, the Record said, quoting the schools superintendent as saying that both men have been suspended from their jobs because of the charge.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office noted that prosecutors executed a search warrant at the family's Tenafly home "during a months-long Internet child sexual abuse material investigation. The investigation revealed that [Steven] Grossman used the Internet to view, download and possess items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children."
Grossman was arrested in Paramus and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
In the statements about both men, Prosecutor Mark Musella thanked the Tenafly Police Department for its assistance, as well as the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, all of which participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
