GoFundMe Set Up For Bergen County Fitness Influencer Who Died On Motorcycle
A GoFundMe has been set up for the victim in a motorcycle crash, a local fitness influencer from Bergen County.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Hawthorne man has been charged with vehicular homicide after striking and killing a local motorcyclist with his truck last week, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
William Clark, 38, has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide resulting in the death of another, while in violation of driving while intoxicated., the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.
The office said that last Thursday, Oct. 5, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Fair Lawn police got a 911 call reporting accident with a vehicle and motorcycle on Wagaraw Road, near the intersection of Maple Avenue and River Road.

Police determined that a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by Clark was traveling south on Wagaraw Road when it crossed over the double yellow line into the northbound lane, striking Harold M. Almonte, 33, of Hawthorne, who was riding a motorcycle.
Almonte then struck a utility pole, prosecutors said. He was taken to St. Joseph’s University and later pronounced dead as a result of injuries.

Police suspected Clark of operating the truck under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with the vehicular homicide offense. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses.
Clark was taken to Bergen County Jail and awaits an appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
GoFundMe Set Up
Friends of Almonte — a fitness influencer whose health journey was followed by 4,000 people on Facebook— have set up a GoFundMe for him.
"Harold was very passionate when it came to his health, his music, and most importantly his fiancé and family," wrote the organizer of the fundraiser.
On Almonte's Facebook page, friends mourned his passing.
"Rest Easy, Brother," wrote one. "It was hard to not strive for greatness in your presence."
