The 7 Deadly Sins of Style Sin #5: Dressing Your Body Type Inappropriately
Since 1974, Sal Lauretta for Men has been creating custom-fitted men's clothing in the classic European tradition.

The Tall Man – This is for anyone that is over 6’3”. Appearing too tall can be intimidating. To diminish height, wear horizontal lines like jacket pockets and belts. Wearing narrow vertical stripes increases the speed of the eye giving the viewer the perception that you are taller than you actually are. If vertical, wear horizontal.
The Short Man – Completely opposite of the tall man, this body type needs those thin vertical lines that the Tall Man should steer clear of. As opposed to a belt, wear suspenders to add to the perception of height. Trousers should be worn and cut as high in the crotch as possible to lengthen the legs.
The Large Man – Solid colors are known to be slimming. While vertical lines would be logical to slim as well, when the shape of the body bends the stripes to curves, it’s obvious that there is something hiding underneath.

A deep “V” in the front jacket will slim the chest. Wearing trousers at the natural waistline elongates the legs and will fall smoothly over the stomach. Suspenders should be worn to deter attraction from a belted waist.
The Thin Man – Bulking up an outfit will help fill out this body type. A double-breasted suit or vest will add depth. Thick cuffs, trouser pleats, and pockets with flaps rather than the narrow slits of “jetted” pockets.
