3 Caught At Holland Tunnel With Loaded Guns, Knives, Body Armor

​Three people were arrested with several loaded handguns, rifles and ballistic vests in New Jersey on their way to New York, officials said.

Three people were arrested with several loaded handguns, rifles and ballistic vests in New Jersey on their way to New York City, according to the Port Authority.

Two men in their 50s and one woman in her 20s were busted at the Holland Tunnel for a cracked windshield when the weapons discovery was made, according to the Port Authority.

The three - who were not identified but, NBC4 New York says, may be from Pennsylvania - were stopped on the New Jersey side of the tunnel around 8 a.m., according to the Port Authority.

NBC4 said the guns seized included long-range weapons and handguns, as well as a camouflage helmet and what appeared to be night goggles.

Two senior law enforcement officials told the station the three suspects are so-called "gun enthusiasts" and have no nexus to terror.
