Inside Female U.S. Soldier's N.J. Home: 'Urine, Feces,' 5 Men

Five men were arrested this week after police discovered them "squatting" inside the N.J. home of a deployed U.S. armed services member.

Five men were arrested this week after police discovered them living with “urine and feces” inside the N.J. home of a deployed U.S. armed services member, according to police.

The men, most of whom are homeless, had been living on the first and third floors of the home in conditions that were “deplorable throughout,” police informed nj.com on Thursday, adding:

“There was evidence of partying, along with urine and feces everywhere.”

Other decrepit conditions found in the home included: Empty beer bottles, clothing and plastic gloves that lay strewn in the yard; and damp, moldy copies of a local newspaper, mixed with unopened mail, were scattered on the front porch, according to northjersey.com.

Police did not name the soldier who owns the home. NorthJersey.com reported the house belongs to a 59-year-old woman soldier who has lived out of state while deployed.

The publication identified the owners as Myrna Myers and her husband, James Myers; James Myers, reached by telephone, confirmed that they owned the home and were trying to sell it, but said they had no interest in discussing the matter.

According to nj.com, police found:

  • Rosalio Valencia-Hernandez, 49, of Englewood
  • Rene Contreras-Ixtla, 39, of Englewood
  • Evaristo Chavez, 34, of Teaneck
  • Oswaldo Meneses-Arango, 47, of Englewood

Valencia-Hernandez, Contreras-Ixtla and Chavez are in the United States illegally from Mexico, while Meneses-Arango is a permanent United States resident from Colombia, according to the reports. Except for Chavez, all the men are homeless, police said.

The men were charged with criminal trespass and taken to to the Bergen County Jail on $2,500 full bail, according to the reports.
