Donations To Ridgewood Mom Battling MS Top $80,000

Leslie Linker is a mother of 2 who requires around the clock care.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ - Donations for Leslie Linker and her family have topped $80,000, thanks in part to a $10,000 donation from an anonymous donor.

Linker, 45, is battling progressive Multiple Sclerosis. She is confined to a wheelchair and has a live-in health aide with her.

Linker was diagnosed with the debilitating disease three months before her wedding in 2003. Linker’s friends started a GoFundMe campaign this month to help raise $200,000 for the mother of two.

The aide costs $5,000 per month and Linker’s pre-owned, handicapped-accessible keeps breaking down and will cost $55,000 to replace.

The campaign is trying to raise $200,000 to help the family and help them find subsidized housing in Ridgewood with wheelchair access.

“Enormous heartfelt thanks to all of the donors to this campaign,” a post on the GoFundMe page said. “We, Lesley’s friends, are all so grateful for your generosity.”
