Glen Rock Gives Residents More Parking Spaces At Train Station

More parking spaces at Harding Plaza being considered. The commuter shuttle may be brought back as well, Mayor Bruce Packer said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ - More parking spaces have been designated for residents at the Borough Hall train station and officials are considering bringing back the commuter shuttle as ways of improving parking and commuting for borough residents, Mayor Bruce Packer said.

The newly-elected Packer has created a website to inform residents of various workings of borough government. Packer addressed various steps officials have taken, or are considering taking, to improve residents’ commutes.

Nineteen parking spots at the train station have been designated for residents. They used to be designed for non-residents. The non-resident spaces have been moved to Main Line parking lot.

Packer said more spots in the Wilde Memorial Parking Lot may be designated for residents. More parking spaces may also be added on Harding Plaza.

Packer said a mailing would be sent out soon to see if the public wants to bring back the commuter shuttle.

“Due to the cost and logistics of running the shuttle, we need to have a sense of how many commuters would potentially use the shuttle and where they are located,” Packer said.
