Glen Rock Police Sued Over Sexting Messages By Former Detective, Report Says
'Can I say you're hot?' was one of the 189 texts Eric Reamy sent the now 17-year-old girl after she was arrested as a juvenile.

GLEN ROCK, N.J. — A teenage girl has sued the police department, borough and a former police detective she claims sent her dozens of sexually suggestive text messages after she was arrested in 2015.
Reamy, 52, was a 27-year veteran with the department and its juvenile officer. He pleaded guilty in March 2016 to using a work cell phone to send explicit texts to two teenage girls, 14 and 17.
Reamy is serving a three-year prison sentence for child endangerment. He was also arrested in September on charges that he pawned guns that had been surrendered to the Glen Rock Police Department.

Eric Reamy was assigned to manage and supervise the girl since he was the department's juvenile officer, the report states. Reamy "embarked upon an unsolicited, illegal series of gender-based, gender-discriminatory actions," the report states, referencing the lawsuit.
The girl claims she felt pressured to cooperate and play Reamy's "sexual games," according to the report.
Reamy sent pictures of his genitals to the 14-year-old girl, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said when Reamy was charged. The girl sent Reamy a topless photo of herself at his request, authorities said.
Reamy will have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, pay medical expenses for the two victims, can never again hold public employment, and will be on parole for life.
Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann could not immediately be reached for comment.
