Glen Rock School Locked Down Thursday During Police Pursuit, Report Says

Central School was placed on lockdown for approximately 13 minutes, authorities said.

Central School in Glen Rock was locked down Thursday afternoon while police pursued a man whom they thought was armed, a report by The Record states.

Police advised school officials at 2:12 p.m. that they were pursuing a man they thought was armed with a box cutter, district spokeswoman Andrea Tahinos told the paper; police asked that the school go into a “shelter-in-place” lockdown where the school is secured from the outside by classes are allowed to continue.

The lockdown was lifted at 2:25 p.m. and the man was arrested, but police did not find a weapon on him, the report states.

Police were questioning the man Thursday afternoon and did not immediately release his identity, the report states.
