Hurricane Joaquin Could Cause Flooding In Bergen County, Officials Warn
1 to 2 inches of rain is possible in low-lying areas.

Flooding could occur in low-lying Bergen County areas due to the rain that is expected to blanket the area due to Hurricane Joaquin, Bergen County officials are warning.
Rain is expected to continue through tomorrow with one to two inches expected. Low-lying areas and those with poor drainage systems may be flooded, the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management warns residents.
Although Hurricane Joaquin is turning east away from New Jersey, the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Coastal Flooding Advisory for Friday and the weekend, forecasting that: Numerous roadways will flood, especially during the daytime high tide cycle through the weekend.

“People should not let their guard down due to a shifting track of the hurricane as the risk to lives and property in this complex situation remains high,” said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist.
