Ridgewood Cop Retires After 30 Years Of Service

Officer Robert Hirsch escorted the Village's Christmas tree Monday downtown.

After 30 years of service, Ridgewood Police Officer Robert Hirsch is retiring.

Hirsch joined the Ridgewood Police Department in 1985. Prior to that, he was a New Jersey Transit Police officer.

Hirsch’s last assignment with the department was escorting the village’s Christmas tree to its downtown home at North Broad Street and Dorchester Avenue.

“We wish Bobby the best in his retirement,” the department stated.
