RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Firefighters extinguished a car fire Monday afternoon in front of the fire department headquarters that caught fire while being towed, fire officials said.
The Kia caught fire while it was being towed from an accident, said fire Capt. Scott Schmidt. The tow truck driver saw that the car was on fire, dropped it in front of the firehouse, and got the firefighters to come up and extinguish it.
Firefighter brought a fire truck out, extended a hose, and quickly extinguished the fire, Schmidt said.
