Ridgewood Man Indicted On Aggravated Assault Charges
James Brown allegedly pulled a knife and struggled with two Ridgewood police officers in November.

A grand jury has indicted a Ridgewood man who police said pulled a knife on them on aggravated assault charges.
James Brown was indicted on two counts each of aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession and resisting arrest, Cliffviewpilot.com reported.
Brown reportedly pulled a knife on police Nov. 18. Village police officers arrived at his Chestnut Street home and determined he needed to go to the hospital for further evaluation, police said.

Although Brown calmed down and said he would comply with police, he pulled out a knife and a brief struggled ensued; the officers quickly subdued Brown and arrested him, police said.
Two Ridgewood police officers, Detective Peter Youngberg and Officer Raymond Tarino were injured and treated at a nearby hospital, Cliffviewpilot reported.
