Ridgewood Police Seek Help To Identify Home Burglary Suspects

The Ridgewood police said a homeowner found alleged package thieves inside the home. Police have a photo of a possible getaway car.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The Ridgewood police are asking for the public's help to find suspects who allegedly trespassed into a home to try to steal packages.

On Thursday, they wrote, "On 02/15/2024 at 5:15 p.m. Ridgewood Police responded to a report of a package theft in progress in the area of Northern Parkway and East Glen Ave. Upon patrol's arrival the call was upgraded to a burglary in progress, the homeowner reported when they arrived home they confronted two actors described as white or Hispanic males in their 20s or 30s inside the home. The two actors fled north on foot across East Glen Ave to a waiting getaway vehicle."

They noted:

"The getaway vehicle [pictured] is a newer model red or burgundy colored Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle fled west on Glen Ave towards North Maple, they proceeded right onto maple towards Ho-Ho Kus. A witness described the vehicle as being driven erratically, the vehicle reportedly passed traffic that was stopped at the red light utilizing the left hand turn lane on East Glen Ave, then proceeded to make a right hand turn through the red light onto North Maple Ave."

Police are asking residents to help identify the vehicle in the photo.

They also said, "Any residents with home video surveillance or dash camera video or any other information regarding the affected area in the requested time frame is asked to contact the Ridgewood Police Detective Monton 201-258-9571."
