Stranger Followed Children To Bergen County Home: Police

Ridgefield Park Police Department said the man followed the kids for two blocks and waited outside the home, police say.

Police are investigating an incident where a man followed two kids home and stood outside watching the residence Wednesday, authorities said.

The two kids were walking south on Hudson Avenue in Ridgefield Park when a man parked his vehicle on the side of the road near where they were walking, exited the vehicle, and walked behind the kids in the same they were, Ridgefield Park Police said.

The man followed the kids for approximately two blocks until they entered a home on an adjacent street, authorities said.

One of the kids looked out a window and saw the man standing across the street, who then ran away from the home, police said.

Police described the man as Hispanic, possibly in his early 30s, between 5 feet 1 and 5 feet 3 inches tall with black hair and a stocky build, authorities said. He was wearing sunglasses, a black T-shirt, blue jeans, a black hat with orange or red stripes.

The man was driving an older-style, four-door, possibly gray or silver, sedan, police said. The exact make and model were unknown.
