Suspects Posed As Police To Rob Bergen County Home: Prosecutors

A Bronx man has pleaded guilty in an armed robbery of a Bergen County home in which victims' hands were zip-tied, prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bronx man has pleaded guilty in connection with a 2022 armed robbery of a Fair Lawn home in which some of the suspects posed as police, prosecutors said.

Dominick Memoli of the Bronx pleaded guilty on Dec. 18 to a charge of first-degree armed robbery in connection with the Nov. 17, 2022 crime.

Prosecutors said that on that date, Memoli and five other people "conspired to commit an armed robbery of a residence [on] 28th Street in Fair Lawn."

During the robbery, two suspects posed as law enforcement officers to gain entry to the home, prosecutors say. Ten, they brandished a handgun and zip-tied the victims’ wrists.

Prosecutors say that Memoli helped plan the robbery and acted as a lookout.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 9 before Judge Nina C. Remson.

The state was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Justin Blasi and was assisted by Detective Alaric Tucker of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad.

Prosecutor Mark Musella thanked Blasi for his advocacy on behalf of the victims. He also commended the detectives of the Special Investigation Squad, the Fair Lawn Police Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office "for their skill and professionalism in investigating this matter."
