Train Was Delayed By Car On Railroad Tracks In Bergen County: PHOTOS

A train heading from Hoboken through Bergen County was delayed Saturday by a car on the railroad tracks.

HO-HO-KUS, NJ — If your train ride from Hoboken through Bergen County on Saturday got delayed, this may be why.

A North Jersey photographer posted photos of the police response to a Ford Mustang that was on the tracks that evening, noting that a train was held up a mere 100 feet from the car.

"At least one summons was issued in connection with an early Saturday evening, 03/02, incident... near the Ho-Ho-Kus train station," he wrote. "No injuries were reported in the mishap. A hydraulic lift tow truck removed the Mustang from its predicament. Ho-Ho-Kus PD and NJ Transit PD responded to incident. All train traffic through the area was held until the tracks were cleared and inspected."

He added, "NJ Transit train #1729, which left Hoboken at 6:24 PM, was held at the Ho-Ho-Kus station, just 100 feet from the crash site."
