WATCH: Accused Killer Leads N.J. Cops On Wild, Wrong-Way Chase

A video (see below) captured a man accused of homicide leading N.J. police on a wild-wrong way 20-mile chase this week, police said.

A dashcam video (see below) captured a man accused of homicide leading N.J. police on a wild-wrong way 20-mile chase this week, police said.

The subject was positively identified as David Campos, 45, of Troy N.Y., and was wanted by Troy N.Y. police for a homicide that occurred early Monday, police said.

At 9:40 a.m. on Monday, the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department received a call from the N.Y. State Police that they were engaged in a pursuit southbound on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, police said.

The vehicle, a black Chrysler 200 was occupied by a subject wanted for a homicide out of Troy NY. Police officer Donald Liu engaged in the pursuit at interchange 5 with N.Y. State Police.

Chief Michael Coppola and officers Roman Galloza, Jesse Cohen, Travis Philhower and Timothy Conboy entered into the pursuit as it continued south on the Palisades Parkway through the N.J. Section, polcie said.

The vehicle was operating at speeds below 90 mph throughout the chase. However, when south of Interchange 1 in the Englewood Cliffs section, the vehicle crossed the Parkway into oncoming northbound traffic and drove through the Sunoco gas station passing attendants and motorists, police said.

The vehicle re-entered northbound traffic while driving southbound and exited onto Fletcher Avenue in Fort Lee. Once south of Linwood Ave, the vehicle crossed back onto the correct side of the road and then entered U.S. Route 1&9 southbound.

Additional local agencies joined to assist as the pursuit continued south on 1&9 and then on the N.J. Turnpike’s eastern spur southbound. The subject was ultimately stopped in traffic at the 18E Toll Plaza in Secaucus Parkway officers placed the subject into custody with assistance from the other agencies and later transported him back to the Palisades Interstate Parkway NJ Headquarters for processing, police said.

Multiple charges and extradition are pending.
