Woman Charged With DWI After Crashing On Route 80 And In Fair Lawn: Police
A driver allegedly involved in a crash on Route 80 then crashed in Fair Lawn, police confirmed.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Jersey City woman was charged with DWI after being involved in crashes on Route 80 and in Fair Lawn, police confirmed Monday.
On Friday, a Honda Accord and another vehicle were involved in a minor crash on Route 80 in Saddle Brook, police confirmed.
The Accord driver, a Jersey City woman, then entered residential streets in Fair Lawn, where she hit a street sign and left the scene, said Fair Lawn Police Lt. Eric Eleshewich.

She "jumped the curb and hit the street sign on the corner of Morlot Avenue at Essex Place," Eleshewich said. "She backed her vehicle up and left the scene. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a stop on Heights Ave. at Harristown Rd."
The driver Sharon A. Gilliss, 52, was placed under arrest after failing a roadside sobriety test, Eleshewich said.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to possess a driver’s license, and failure to possess a registration, Eleshewich said.
She was released to a responsible adult, Eleshewich said.
The Fair Lawn police posted on Facebook on Friday, "Rule #1 - DON’T RUN…. If you plan on ...running or committing crimes that would jeopardize our residents' safety you may wanna find a different route."
